Exercise calories.... To eat or not to eat???

I have read MANY different forums on here to try and figure out the answer to this question. And honestly I still haven't figured it out. Previously I had been eating my exercise calories and only saw 1 to 1.5 lb weight losses. But last week was my TOM and for medical reasons I can't exercise during that time and I saw a 3.2 lb weight loss. So I'm confused as what to do. Do I not exercise and hope the weight loss stays high? Do I exercise and eat the extra calories? Or do I exercise and not eat the extra calories? If anyone has any insight on this, it would be greatly appreciated. I also have hypothyroidism and idk if this plays a role in all of this or not.
I know I need to exercise to be able to tone the extra skin but I still have 70 lbs to lose by March and I'm trying to make the most out of my time.

Maybe you should change everyday. One day you excercise and your burned carories back. Next day you excercise and eat them not back and one day you do not excercise. Than start the circle new. I don't know if it helps you, but you can try.0

HI i don't personally eat my exercise calories many as i usually burn between 1000 and 1500 a day and would really struggle to eat that, but also if i'm hungry i'll eat extra .I'd do wot is right 4 u, I tried to eat more one week and stayed the same , i usually lose between 2- 3 pound a week and happy with that, Good luck i hope u work out wot u want to do.0

I try to eat my exercise calories back, however on days that I burn 1000 calories I find this very difficult, so instead I try to aim for 50% of my burned calories. This has worked for me.0

Try playing around with your calorie goals and exercise numbers and see what happens. I've finally found that eating around 1414 calories a day is the sweet spot for me. I usually eat back about 200-250 of my calories. I do this immediately after working out with a protein bar. It can definitely be frustrating when you "only" see a pound or so weight loss, but that is better than nothing and still really great! This is a marathon, not a sprint. GOod luck!0
