So, I decided to start tracking my sodium effective today.

Went to the sandwhich shop for lunch. Skppied the deli meat b/c it is chock full and was feeling proud of myself till I entered the meal... Totally bombed today w/ the pickles and Vinegar...

Some days it feels like there is nothing healthy cept raw vegies! Is that really all there is???

No! I usually stay under 1500mg of sodium per day and I eat more than just raw veggies. My diary is open if you'd like to take a peek for ideas. And excuse my bad behaviour the past few days regarding chocolate intake, hehe!

Seriously! I had no idea that I was having such issues with sodium! WTF? I can not figure out how this happens...ok - I know how it happens but jeezy creezy it's unbelievable how much sodium is in stuff.

It's tough in the beginning but if you start cooking most of your own foods and don't add salt to anything it will go down. Now I am always under. Of course thats because nothing taste good anymore so its a really good diet tip.

I've recently started tracking sodium too and it is a pain and a half to stay under 2500 for me. I've starting noticing sodium in places I never thought about it before - like mustard. 0 calories per serving, but it still has sodium. Sodas. Ugh.

But luncheon meat is one of the worst. I just found this site today that lists some lower sodium luncheon meats -

    Very true.

Start making some small changes to bring the sodium down bit by bit. It takes time. :)
