elliptical vs. treadmill

I do an hour on the treadmill every saturday and burn 450-500 calories. It only takes me 40 minutes on the elliptical to hit 500.
With that said, if someone challenged me to burn as many calories as I could in 5-10 minutes, i would pick the treadmill. Throw the incline up to level 15 and set the MPH in the 2.5-3.0 range. That calorie monitor starts turning over like a slot machine. I have gotten close to 20 cals/minute doing that. But I can't keep it up very long.
