hi :)
I've been on mfp for a few months but haven't really posted or got "properly" into the weight loss.

I only want to lose about 7-10lbs and although that might not seem like much it's been really difficult so far. Last year I was diagnosed with M.E. and as a result have problems with my muscles/joints & fatigue.

I'm eating about 1200 cals/ day but have some questions about the exercise.
I want to do the 30 day shred but don't want t burn out, is it okay to do each level for like2-3 weeks and then mov onto the next level when I feel ready? Also to get some mild cardio I thought about swimming once/twice a wek?

Any advice would really be appreciated :)

Also, i hate drinking water haha, will 2ltrs water per day help shift the weight? I need to be bikini ready for my holiday in 3 months, is it achievable?

Thanks in advance :)

How much exercise you can do safely without risk of relapse depends on how ill you are in the first place. In the early stages of ME, it's very important not to consistently ignore it when you are becoming overtired. I don't know what the 30 day shred is, but burnout is somewhere you really can't afford to go if you have ME - you put yourself at risk of very serious relapse. Be very careful, especially in the early stages of ME, to stay within safe levels of exercise, and not to push yourself beyond them consistently. If you do that, you are putting yourself at risk of relapse.

If you have not experienced a relapse, this means you will become sicker, unable to do as much as you could before. With ME it can take a long time to recover from relapses and there is also a possibility that you will not recover fully if it is a serious relapse. Relapses are best avoided altogether if possible!

I'm not trying to put the frighteners on you, because this all depends on how sick you are in the first place, but I'm telling you worst case scenario because lack of knowledge can do a great deal of harm if you are at risk.

Hope this helps. All the best to you.

I dont have ME but have alot of physical problems so cant exercise much. I only do what I feel comfortable doing, I havent pushed myself once yet on this diet and dont intend to start doing so yet lol. I would suggest you do what your body allows you to without getting into discomfort, you know your body and limits better than anyone else does :)

Hey, I have suffered with ME for about 4 years now, brought on due to the sudden death of my only son, aged 16. Since then I have also been diagnosed with Crohn's disease, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. I walk with 2 sticks and can do pretty much zero in terms of exercise as even walking for 10 mins or so knocks me out!

However, as you say, water therapy or swimming can be therapeutic as it takes the weight off the joints and muscles. I thought my ME was improving, but a few weeks ago, due to stress, I relapsed and am finding things tough...great time to join MFP then!

it will be a longer and harder road, but determination goes a long way, and if you try something that then puts you in bed for 2 days, you know to taper it, or try something new. Gentle movements, even whilst in bed, can help. Things like just lifting your head and shoulders in a sit up movement, or lying flat on the bed with a tin of beans/soup in each hand, and lifting them up and down a few times.

It is tough, but there are ways and means, and if you are determined to get there, you will.

I've literally just started, and at 172 lbs I need to lose about 30lbs, my knees and hips can't take much more weight!!

    Good luck x
