Aging and shrinking and strength training

I recall reading, and it makes a lot of sense that at about age 27 or so our lean muscle mass tends to be at it's most dense. Every organ grows until about 27, and then begins to shrink after that. The only exception is "skin" is an organ and it is the only one that continues to grow.

That being said, most people to stay at a baseline fitness after this peak at around 27 would gradually lose weight.

So if I weigh 200 lbs at age 27, and my fitness level is at some arbitrary level (let's say 843/1000) to stay at an 843 level from there on my weight would go down accordingly. If my weight goes up after age 27 one of two things is happening.

1--My body fat has increased
2--I am doing vigorous strength training

I read somewhere an MFP said "My boobs and butt get bigger with age) Well, in your butt the bones and muscles and ligaments and tendons and cartilage all get small as we age. Either vigorous strength training is increasing the size of your butt muscles or you are increasing body fat....there isn't a third.

Boobs: Skin grows, glands shrink, So either the increase is just skin or it is body fat.

It is hard to accept, or believe, or understand, but we actually get smaller after our adult peak in the late twenties....except for body fat, skin, and with very vigorous strength training...muscle size.

What do you think?
