Hi Pals, I recently bought a Polar f7, to get the maximum benefit out of my workout. Thus would like to ensure my setting are right so would like to an answer to the following questions please:happy:

(info female, 64cm, 88kg or 193.lbs0

1. What should the Maximum heart rate be? mine is set at 180.
2. What should the fat burning zone be? mine is set at 123 (I think this is how its set by polar i did not imput this)
3. I am trying to loose weight, yesterday when i worked out with Jullien Michaels DVDs, my Polar recorded 59 minutes of fat-burn and 39 minutes of cardio. Should i be in the cardio zone more or the fat burning zone?

Thanks for your help my Palewahle!!:smooched:

Your Max. is 220 minus your age. Your fat burning area is 60-70% of that max. :P To loose the fat you want to be in your "fat burn" stage.

Yes you're max and heart rate and zones are set by polar.

Honestly your going to LOSE(not LOOSE!) fat in either stage. I stay in my cardio zone for most of my workouts and I'm still losing fat.. only difference is that you're going to burn more calories in the cardio zone vs the fat burning zone. My mom's trainer told me that you want to try and balance the time you spend in the two zones.. so far I haven't done that, but it's something to try.

Also Polar determines your zones by taking your personal information, you're resting heart rate and heart rate variability into account. So don't be surprised if it starts higher and then gets lower, or starts lower and then gets higher.
