Did you check out their new grilled vegetable salad? I don't know what the nutritional value is but that might be an option.
  • I believe they have a couple soups that are fairly healthy, and I always order pizza without cheese when I eat there.

Did you check the White Pizza? I buy it at the store and it is pretty low calorie.

The half orders of salad are still a pretty gigantic size and if you get them without dressing they are actually pretty decent as far as calorie counts go. CPK is great for sharing, perhaps you can share with your husband pizza and salad so you are not tempted to eat the whole thing, just a slice or two?

If you are forced to do pizza, just eat the toppings off your slice. :)

Not sure how you feel about ordering from the "kids" menu... but I do it a lot!
I find that the size of the portion is perfect for me. I saw there was a (kids) Grilled Chicken Breast with Broccoli on there for 275 cals- mabye some thing like that and a side/wedge salad dressing on the side? ?

I would think they have salads. But, if you really want to enjoy yourself, work your booty off today and burn about 500 cals, that way you will be able to net about a 500 calorie dinner with one of those 1k calorie plates. Enjoy!!

I was there a few months ago. I remember being shocked by how high everything was! Either go with some type of salad - I think you can get a smaller portion, or plan for what you want and eat light/get extra exercise the rest of the day. Kudos for looking up the nutrition info ahead of time - that has been my strategy to help me keep on track when we go out to eat. Good luck - have fun & enjoy!

oh yeah, for salad-no cheese dressing on the side, then pick off about half the croutons

You aren't gonna blow it all away with a single dinner. I'd say relax, have a piece or two of pizza, and give the rest to your kids or husband or something.

You'll be fine. Part of this being a lifestyle change as compared to a diet is knowing you can have days where you eat things not so healthy and not feel bad. Don't make a habit of it, and make sure you exercise, and it'll be ok.

Never eating foods you like is setting yourself to eventually fail. No one has the willpower to NEVER eat the foods they want, if they treat it as a complete failure it makes them far more likely to binge when they DO give in.

Besides, do you really want to be freaking out about calories everytime your husband and you go out to dinner? As long as you are careful about portions and eat fairly healthy choices, you'll be fine.

You will not destroy your figure in a SINGLE day. Repeatedly eating pizza, however might be a bad call.

I know my mom likes their BBQ chicken chopped salad. She always gets half and according to the website thats only like 500 something calories.

I always get the BLT Pizza.. my suggestion is if you want pizza only eat half and take the rest the home to enjoy later on.

california pizza kitchen puts their calories and lots of other nutrional values on their menu so you can see right there what it is and decide then.

Also - they have "half" salads. Just try to be good and don't eat the whole plate, whatever you get!

CPK is super high in calories.. I really only ever eat the fish tacos (sans avocado), but just the one and some chips since they are so big and save the rest.

We eat there regularly and it is hard. It's so much easier to eat at home! I try to make sure I eat lower calorie breakfasts and lunches and work out that day so I have some extra calories for dinner. Yes, their pizzas are 1000+ calories, but you probably wouldn't try to eat a whole pizza anyway. (Even before I was paying attention to calories, DH and I would split a pizza and salad.)

I'm a vegetarian, and I usually eat half a pizza with thin crust (savings of 172 calories over the regular crust). There are a lot of pizzas with regular crust right around 1000 calories, so if you eat half with a thin crust, you'll be around 450 calories. The soups are also very good, but kind of high in calories I think. The half salads are also a good option. I usually get Half of the Original BBQ Chicken Chopped with no chicken. I estimate that to be around 500 calories.

    Norwegian Atlantic Salmon: w/ Spaghettini (1203 cals) w/ Wok-Stirred Vegetables (745 cals)

I think I will go with the Veggies instead of PASTA! This sounds more healthy for me.

I can even get a Peach Iced Tea for (70 cals)

Thanks for all your help everyone!

ALSO: I allow myself treats/coffee. I just don't over do it! I like to make sure I keep myself on a good/safe track. That way I know I am doing better, & I'm happy with how I am eating. Just saying.
