I'd love to do this challenge, but...I'm a comunity care support worker, and I have a cup of tea with milk with one of my ladies twice a day, and if I refused a cup, she'd worry that something was wrong with me, she enjoys our little chats over a cuppa, and at 83 years of age, I for one don't wanna deprive her of her little ways

Can i join, but drink water the rest of the time - when I'm not with this lovely lady?

This will be easy for me! I drink only water everyday. If some of you dont like plain water try Crystal Light lemondae or fruit punch.. Its just added to water. SO GOOD!

This seemed easy as I first read it, but then I realized it was ONLY water. I like to have my skimmed milk for dinner, as I make the kids drink milk, and I also worry about my calcium intake. I'm not subbing it for water, as I generally get 90 to 120 oz of H2O per day. Maybe, I'll take this challenge off.

I think you should be able to have your cup of tea with your lady. I personally wouldnt want you to deprive her of that.

I'm not so sure she means we can't drink any else. I think it's more along the lines of not drinking pop etc.

Milk, tea, smoothies etc....if that's part of how you eat and drink....I don't think she's asking us to make changes like that.:noway: :drinker:

Some folks are struggling to get back to simply drinking water and giving up sodas etc., I think that's what weeks challenge is all about.

Cause I for one have no plans to eat my cereal with water!  :noway:

Have a fantastic week all....and keep it simple....it's merely a challenge to drink our daily water that's healthy for us & YUMMY:drinker:

I'd say so....as long as she doesn't pull out a tray of bisquits ...and ask you to eat the whole tray:laugh: Yes, I'm being silly but....like I shared...I think the main goal in this challenge this week is getting us to realize how important our water is to our bodies and to keep up with drinking it:flowerforyou:

I wouldn't want you to miss out on tea with her....sounds like a lovely time.

I tried Sat. not drinking anything else other than water, and I did pretty good. I only drank one cup of coffee; the rest of the day was water. I am ready to do no other drink.

I am on my second bottle of water today. Each bottle is 2 servings so I am doing pretty good so far. I usually just drink water anyhow now a days unless I have a little bit of grapefruit juice.

Couldnt we start with something easy, like say paying off the national debt?

We gave up icecream, cake, cookies, bread, pizza, chinese food and a myriad of other food but

WE WONT GIVE UP OUR COFFEE....:drinker:

    LOL:laugh:

I am truly going to try this tomorrow. :grumble: I didnt see this 1st thing today.

I believe Milk is in the food group-so it doesnt count as a drink!!

    seriously. no coffee?

could do it otherwise (although that glass of wine would be tempting) and officially I'd have already failed as i gave blood today and the lady gave my a glass of orange juice afterward, that I drank.. about half of.

    but...

    again.. can I say it..

    no coffee????????

gotta be crazy. my whole week would be ruined, the headaches!
  • I am up for it!!!! I will be starting it right now, and getting rid of the diet coke that I am drinking right now!

By the posts I see this is really a big issue.

Maybe this challenge is exactly what we need to stop and think about the fluids we put in our bodies.

I am looking at my glass of iced tea right now wondering when it had gotten such a hold over me.

I think, for me, I am going to try because NOTHING should have that strong a hold on me.

We will see...if you read about me in the papers tell maw I love her. :ohwell:

Have done well with my water today, had 3/4 of a gallon in by 3 pm. Slowing down now, have just another 8 oz to go to reach 120. Did drink my milk for din-din!

I'm feeling bad for you caffeine junkies--I remember when I used to drink a whole pot in the hour I got ready for work each morning. I'll have a cup every now and then, but am not the addict I used to be.
