HELP!!!!

I know the best thing to start the day off with is food higher in protein than it is in carbs as it helps the body continue to burn fat better. But, my problem is finding foods that I won't mind eating in the morning that have higher protein counts. I really don't want to eat eggs and meat each morning and most of the supposed "protein" shakes and bars on the grocery shelves have more carbs than protein.

If you have any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Try Greek yogurt....depending on the brand they can have anywhere from 10-23 grams of protein in about 6 oz....they are quick and easy too!

Make your own shakes using pure protein powder, instead of pre-mixed (dry or wet) shakes/meal replacements. That should change your carb/protein ratio in the direction you desire.

I drink protein shakes every day. Muscle Milk Light has no sugar added and it's very few carbs compared to most.

Hope you can find something you like! Greek yogurt is great - if it's not sweet enough for you, just add some Splenda or Truvia.

Hard boiled egg whites, (are quick)
    Turkey sausage,
    Oatmeal w/ fruits and nuts
w/ toast are some of my favorites.
They even have the egg whites sold in cartons at the store so you can make omlets, w turkey sausage and low-fat cheese throw in your favorite veggies! Yumm...
    Have fun!

Have you tried just having like a whole wheat toast---multigrain is best, its super hearty--with peanut butter?

This is exactly what I was going to suggest :) I also love slicing up an apple and dipping it in a tbl of Peanut butter, sweet and very filling!!
  • I have information from a weight loss doctor who has very successful results and it says first thing you should eat should be high in protein and to avoid cereals, bagels, biscuits, slim fast, fruits, donuts and peanut butter first thing. These foods have high amounts of carbs and sugars which turn into fat. Carbs first thing actually stop your body from burning fat for 12 hours. So I just don't know what else to do.
