That is the question???
I use an HRM to calculate my calories burned during exercise. Should I be adding my warm up/cool down into the mix, or am I cheating by doing this?

You should keep it on till your heart rate is back to normal0

My $.02 - if you burned it as part of your workout, then no reason not to include it.0

I don't see how it's cheating it's part of your workout and you wouldn't be warming up/cooling down otherwise.0

I would just be aware if you are eating all your calories back or not.
For this reason and many others. I divide my HRM calories in half and manually put that in for my designated work out.0 -
If you burn extra calories by warming up, then you are not cheating yourself. I dont think it matters how those calories are burned... Calories burned are calories burned.
What I assume you are trying to do with your HRM is count calories over maintenance, so I would not think you are cheating yourself at all.0 -
Thanks everyone. I worry about what my HRM tells me anyway (tho is a great brand) I usually eat back only 1/2 the calories regardless.0
