I’m a charter member of the start-again, stop-again club. That goes for any weight loss and/or exercise program. Everyone says “don’t look back, just think about today and the future from here”, but I have to take a moment to LOOK BACK and see what I missed, so I can make THIS “Start Again” be the LAST “start”! I DON’T WANT TO “START” to eat better ever again, I want to CONTINUE eating healthy for the rest of my life!

Here’s what I want to “look back” on. Earlier this year I read a study that said people with financial incentive to lose weight had more success. So I came up with a plan for financial reward for myself called the Fat Cash plan. It was complete with a spread sheet with goals and monetary rewards and everything – totally slick! My sweetie hubby was completely on board (as he has ALWAYS been when I have come up with some “new” way to lose weight!). I lasted exactly 3 weeks on that plan, then I stopped documenting in the spread sheet.

So last week, when I STARTED again, this time with The 17 Day Diet, I told my hubby the Fat Cash plan was back in play! I pulled up the original spread sheet and was aghast to see that I had started that plan in MID-FEBRUARY! 4 MONTHS AGO! It seems like “just yesterday” when I created that document, and I can’t believe that 4 MONTHS has gone by!

Then it dawned on me – it seems like I’ve been on the 17 Day Diet for at least a month, even though it’s only been 7 days, but you know what? ANOTHER 4 MONTHS WILL GO BY, as fast as that last one! My START date for The 17 DD is Thursday, June 23. 4 months from that will be October 23. How far will I be by then? Who knows? BUT I have the potential to be at least halfway to my goal weight by then, maybe even MORE than halfway!

I’m so excited about my results so far, but I’m not going to post an update to my weight/measurements until I’ve completely finished the first Cycle, which will be on July 10. But I can tell you this; the weight I’ve lost so far in Cycle 1 has been so encouraging to me, and I’m completely determined to CONTINUE on this plan, and never “START” AGAIN!

By thinking Backward, I can now move Forward, Onward, and DOWNWARD!
