How does everyone log a BIG salad (ya know..like Elaine from Seinfeld would order)...

I have a HUGE salad loaded with lettuce, spinach, peppers, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, onions, banana peppers, cucumbers!

I don't have any high calorie things like croutons or dried cranberries or nuts or anything like that (other than chicken)...Do you log ALL those small things?

I break it down and log each ingredient. If it's something I eat regularly I create a meal from it.

I do log all those things.. once you do you will be mindful of how much a 1/4 cup of chick peas or whatever you like is caloric wise.

The salad bar logging is annoying but I choose to do it.

Break it down, log it, then click "remember this meal" so that every time you have that salad, you just pop it in.

I created a salad in "My Meals" with every possible ingredient. When I have a salad, I add that to my diary then delete or reduce portions on what I didn't eat.

I log it. If its always pretty much the same ingredients I create a recipe make logging easier.

If it usually the same(ish) BIG salad then you could try working out the calories for your average amounts of each ingredients and keep that list handy when you are making your salad. Then log it in as a meal and just use that total calorie count unless you drastically change the salad.

I bought a food scale that gives me all kinds of info on foods it helps in making meals.

you could use the recipes in the food tab if you know the amounts of each ingredient.
it'll do all the calculating for you.

Thanks for sharing this. Its exactly what I'll do. I don't know why it didn't occur to me sooner as I saved my most frequent breakfast meals.

I log in every ingredient individually the first time and then add it to my saved meals and recipes. It's a pain the first time but after that it's just a matter of clicking on the saved meal:-)

It's a salad, only bigger, with lots of STUFF in it.

That's exactly what I do. Measure/count how much of each ingredient you have and log it. It's time consuming, but you gotta do it!
