Should I switch my weight loss per week?

I started with and currently have a healthy BMI. I've lost about 5 pounds in 5 weeks (yay!), and have about 8lbs to go before maintenance (give or take).
Is 1 pound per week an okay pattern for me to continue? Or should I bump it down to 1/2 a pound per week? Or is it fine as long as it's working?
I saw it written somewhere that if you have less than 10lbs to lose you should only go for 1/2 pound a week, but I'm not sure.
Thanks for the help!

This depends on you. Are you happy with the amount of calories you're eating every day, or are you right at 1200 and feel like you'd like to eat a little more?
I become a crazy person at 1200 calories a day, it's simply not enough for my brain to function properly. So when my goal of 2lbs a week dropped me to 1200 calories I readjusted my goal. I've got 16lbs to go and I'm at 1lbs a week still and I'll see how I feel when I get to the 10lbs left mark before I decide if I'll go to 1/2 lb a week or not.0
