Almond Milk

I'm new to almond milk and wondering about it's actual shelf life. The carton says it stays fresh for 7-10 days after opening. The expiration date stamped on it though is like a month later. How will I know? Does it make a smell? Taste weird?!

Grossss! I think that 7-10 days thing is bunk, especially if you keep your fridge on the colder side. I've had almond milk opened for 3 times that long without it going chunky. Now be sure that I didn't feel comfortable drinking it, but it didn't smell and it might have been OK.

I always keep mine past 7-10 days of opening it! I drink it too fast to hit the really long expiration date, but I've never had a problem (and I've probably had an open half gallon for 30 days or something). Just another positive of almond milk :D
  • The after-opening expiration really depends on your fridge. The fridge I have keeps everything nice and cold, the old one though not so much. While I personally don't trust anything after it's expiration date, I drink down my almond milk too quickly to notice. :D

The stamped expiration date is if you keep it in the fridge and don't open it, it should be good until then.
  • I always drink mine so fast I never have to worry about shelf life! Almond milk is the BEST.
