Protein Powder

I know everyone seems to have their own opinion on what they think is the best protein powder. I am new to this and think I'd like to buy some to add to smoothies etc. What should I look for in a protein powder? Are there certain ingredients to avoid, or look for? Each person has their own preference on taste, so I guess I'll have to experiment a bit until I find one I like, but is there a "tried and true" out there that I might be smart to start with? How much protein per serving should I be going for? My main goal is weight loss, and I've been doing quite a bit of strength training with weights. I don't want to be taking too much but I also don't want to take too little...kind of defeats the purpose.
Any suggestions?

You should get atleast 1kg of protein for every lb you weigh. I prefer Whey but they have soy and even hemp protein out there. Have fun0

Just look for proteins that are Isolates and NOT condensed. I don't agree with 1g of protein for every pound...it's more like 1g for every kilogram, which turns into roughly .5 per pound. However, if you are on a higher protein diet to lose weight, I would take in more, I go for about 150g of protein a day, I'm 200lbs.0
