Polar HRM's

I'm researching the Polar HRM's and have it narrowed down to either the F6 or F11. My husband is going to get it for me for christmas but I have to tell him which one I want. The problem is, I was reading some user reviews on another site and it seemed like a lot of people had battery problems with the watches. Have any of you guys experienced that? They say that if the battery needs changed you have to send the watch back at your expense to get a new battery. Is there another brand out there just as good but one that you can change the battery yourself? I'm mainly wanting it to count calories burned and help with my 5K training for next years race. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have the F6 and love it. I just changed the battery for the first time since I got it about 2 years ago. No problems changing the battery....bought it from Walgreens and had a friend pop it right out. They say the water resistance warranty is null and void if you change it yourself but I did not want to send mine off.0
