so ive been changing my eating habits for the last month and i have two problems. First, im starting to get tired of the meals im eating. I always just eat something quick and easy because i have 2 jobs and am very busy. The other bigger problem is that once i get home from my second job around 10 or 11pm i always end up eating too much when i shouldn't be eating at all, evening when i dont have work the evenings are always the hardest. Any suggestions to my problems???? thanks

could you save up your calories during the day so you can eat when you get in? Or prepare something in advance thats healthier so you are snacking on the right things? there are loads of recepie sites that have low cal suggestions xx0

I had a problem of anting to eat really late too. I found that drinking like 10 glasses of water throughout the days has really helped keep down the cravings for food. So try drinking water and some vegs.0

i think accept that youre hungry when you get in, and plan a specific snack that you can eat at that time and take it into account with your daily calories0

MFP has a great recipe section that you can browse for new meal ideas. There are also many websites, magazines and cookbooks you could check out. If you can prepare foods on the weekends (or whatever your day off may be) and then store them in individual portions either in the freezer or in the fridge, it's a lot easier to walk in the door and grab something good and healthy during the hectic work week.
RE: The snacking:
Why wouldn't you eat something after work? Odds are it's been several hours since your last meal, so it's actually a great time for a snack! Please do not buy into the absolute MYTH that eating close to bedtime will derail your weight loss efforts--it won't.
It sounds as though some of your snacking is driven by boredom and habit, as you say it's more difficult to manage if you're at home. The best way around this is to build new habits. Go for a walk, call a friend, find a new hobby, read all those books you've been telling yourself you should read, make meals for the coming week, fix something in the house or apartment that needs --whatever--just keep busy!0 -
My solution... go to sleep. I've found that if I'm eating at night, it's actually because I'm exhausted.0

When you work weird hours, I think all the stuff about not eating late at night gets a little messed up. You should just go ahead and plan to eat your calories throughout the day--even if that means saving enough for a big meal at night. As far as munchies, if you'll eat plenty of protein and fiber and drink plenty of water (at least 10 glasses a day) you should be able to keep them under control as long as you're taking in enough calories. No salt added or reduced sodium canned beans are a great fast meal -- just drain and rinse them. You can mash them up a little and add salsa (bean dip), or add a can of diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, and a bag of steamfresh brown rice (steam it first). Nuke the whole bowl full of stuff for 2-3 minutes and Viola! The whole recipe is around 700 calories---but on days that I kickbox and zumba I have that many. If you don't, just eat half. VERY filling and loaded with good stuff.0

Can you tell me how to find the recipes? I know where the ones I have entered are, but can't find recipes from others in the community (except for the forums). Thanks.0
