I just found out about MFP and have been lurking on the boards. I have to say everyone is so supportive! My weight has been up and down for the past ten years. I will be turning 30 this December and do not want to spend my thirties overweight. Sometimes I feel like I missed out a lot in my twenties. I’ve tried weight watchers many times in the past and would always get bored with it and lose motivation. I recently tried a shake diet and learned the hard way that the only healthy and SAFE way to lose weight is by counting calories and exercising. So here I am! I am going to do this the right way. I hope to get to know everyone as I’ll be here a long time. No more quick fixes..however long it takes is how long it takes. I just got engaged about two months ago so that is extra motivation for me! Feel free to add me as a friend. I need all the support I can get!

Hi there! I'm new as well (totally new, haven't even lurked or anything!). I know what you mean, feeling like you've missed out on your twenties. I'm in my early thirties and have decided it is time to deal with this weight issue once and for all. Sending a FR.
