So I fell off the wagon for a few weeks. I had lost 10 pounds in approx a month and have now gained most of it back. I figured today is a good day to start fresh, it's the 1st of the month and I happen to be feeling pretty good right now. What do you guys do to keep you going, or what do you think about? For me, I picture myself looking and feeling like I did five years ago. Also, I'm a junkie for looking at everyones before and after pictures.

Me too!!! Actually my motivation is more about my fitness goals and how I look in the mirrors at the gym which sounds really vain but actually that's where I can see the real difference. I love it when I manage to do a new exercise in the gym that I couldn't do before.. that's really motivating!

well I've joined one of the challenges here....not typically someone who gets involved in groups, however I have found I will try a little harder so that I won't let the 'team' down. It also helps that I'm surrounded my amazing, dedicated friends. I see their sexy pics and incredible burns.......it keeps me moving!0

I love the before/after pics too! It helps me to think of fitting into smaller clothes. And when I am tempted to eat badly, I think of entering it in my food diary and seeing the calories come up. Ugh! Some days I am just too tired to work out, so I let myself rest. But feeling better is the best motivation for me. I just feel so much better when I work out and eat better. I am in a better mood and have more energy. You are going to do great this month! Good luck to you! :glasses:0

Listen to "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey. Works like a charm every time.0

To be honest, I keep thinking that I don't need to belong to this site, but I do.
Don't get me wrong - I love my buddies here and I don't take them for granted.
But there are those times in life when things are sooo hectic that I feel like I am that lousy MFP friend (the type that people often rant about on the boards) that is not providing the support that all my friends deserve. I don't 'like' being a flake, but it happens. :noway:  You know, life happens.
That said, for motivation, I belong to this site: there are some incredibly inspirational people on here. Whether someone has lost more than half their previous body weight, overcome crazy habits or schedules to improve their quality of life or even has just a few pounds to lose and some oatmeal recipes to share, everyone here has made a 'commitment' to their health - definitely inspirational!0 -

'Keep On Runnin' from the same album for me.  :laugh:0 -
:flowerforyou: I write posts to lift other people's spirits because when I see they are feeling good it makes me feel inspired to keep going also. I look for inspirational quotes and share those. And I'm not afraid to admit when I screw up. I own those moments and then I move on immediately and don't let 1 indescretion ruin the whole day or the whole week. Eating healthy and losing weight is hard work. It's a mind set and it's a commitment and it takes time to change bad habits. You have to find the fire in your belly that says failure is not and option. Any one of us can diet for a short term. Only a few will make actual lifestyle changes. The temptations around us are too great. I'm in the right zone and feeling strong like I finally got this licked...and at the same time I am dreading the 3 barbecues I'm supposed to go to this weekend. Feel free to add me if you like...

My motivation is remembering how good I feel when I'm in great shape. I'm an [out of shape] runner slowly getting back into shape and I love the feeling of being light on my feet and speedy. My motivation is getting back to that. Also (a bit silly), but I bought a dress on ebay a while back that I REALLY love but it's a size too small. I shouldn't have bought it as I knew it would be too small, but I did anyway. My goal is to wear it!!!0
