So I've been doing a lot of reading onilne and lots of the diets I've read about tend to stress either low fat or low carb.

What about low fat AND low carb diets? Does this work?

I don't have an excessive amount of fat in my diet, or an excessive amount of carbs either.... to be honest I have no clue what my ratio is...

Anyway just wondered what people's thoughts on this was. Are you supposed to subscribe to one camp or the other? Confused!

H :)

Low fat & low carb would mean you'd be getting only protein. It's not that good. Moderation is the key. My ratios are 35-40-25 being carbs-protein-fat. Seems to work great. Check your ratios: go to goals, change goals, custom.

I'm doing and low card low calories. I try not to look at fat too much and try to maintain under 1370 cals a day.
  • There is a low fat low carb diet called the Dukan diet which is getting to be quite popular nowadays - I've did it for a month in January and lost about a stone, but it's really hard and made me very grumpy! I ended up cheating so lost about the same amount of weight i would have done just by eating healthily etc and it would have been a lot nicer! I'd say if you've got an event coming up it's quite good to shift half a stone or so by doing it for a week but in the long run it's not worth the hassle. I've had to promise my boyfriend that I'll never do 'that crazy meat diet' ever again! Hope this helps :-)
