Am I the only one in the world that goes to every weight loss site in search of a goal weight that I want to hear?

Like I am suddenly going to find out the FDA reccommends a 5'2" female should be 146 pounds!

I mean, I really dont think I should be 110 pounds, maybe when I was 20, but at 47 I think I would look terrible at 110.

But am I thinking this because I cant bear the thought of losing another 38 pounds?

Anyway, thought for the day.

What is your goal weight, what weight looks good on you?

Everything looks good on me, hon

My goal weight is 140 - which for 5'3" most would consider high

 You crack me up girlie!!! If you ever find out the the FDA does recommend that someone 5'2" should weight 146, PLEASE let me know...LOL. I think the "charts" say that for our height (or lack thereof) we should be between like 105 and 135. I was 105 about 10 years ago and everyone kept asking me if I was sick, so obviously that was too low for me.

I say to hell with the numbers and when you get to the right weight for you it will just feel right, inside and out.

    Hugs and

Yup! I like this one: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm It's fun to see the average weight that other people of my age, height, weight and gender say is their ideal weight.

I'm 5'4". My pre-pregnancy weight was 140. I gained 30 pounds when I was pregnant. Almost 6 weeks after my daughter was born, I am down 24 pounds to 146. My realistic weight goal is 130. (The lightest I've ever been is 131.) But my ideal goal weight is between 110 and 120.

The BMI calculator here says I could weigh between 118 and 159......at 5'7" I would look AWFUL at 118, the lowest I can remember as an adult was between 150 and 160 and I had been ill to get there, and I looked skinny, but not in a good sense.

So the answer I want to hear is..."gee, you look great" from friends and family. I also want to be able to walk into most any clothes store and find clothes that fit correctly and look good. So as I get close to 175 I think I'll play it by ear.

Gee Ezzie, you look great!  (Oh c'mon, admit that you all really did want me to do that *giggle*) And btw, she really does look great in real life also! :drinker:

As for us guys, methinks the so called range is horse puckey! It calls for me to be somewhere between 125-160? Huh?! In junior high I weighed 160! Gimme a break! I'l be delighted to get down to 200 one day. End of story.
...she still looks great by the way *giggle* Plants a big wet juicy kiss on Ezzie and runs away!

I like this website! It gave me a range of 118-155....LOL I was going for the high end for someone who is 5'6"...according to the MFP 150...Whoo hoo I can knock off 5lbs and go with 155! LMAO

I am 5'6" and the weight range is around 118-155 also. If I weighed 118, people would think I wasn't eating anything. When I weighed 130 I looked very thin and still not really healthy. My goal weight right now is 140, and I think that is a good weight for my body type.

According to all the methods I could be anywhere from 97-128 lbs. I'm shooting for 125. If I were to weigh 97 lbs, I'd have to lose all of my body fat plus 10 lbs of muscle/bone. At 125 I'll just have sub-20% body fat.

I'm 5'3" and my goal is 140. When I get there, I'll decide if I want to go on down to 130 or 135. I couldn't imagine going any lower than 130 though. I may decide to not go any lower than 140. I'll see.

    now THAT is funny!!

I have always said I am not fat, just too short for my weight!

I know it has a lot to do with muscle, too. I just think these charts send you straight to the chocolate cake. Why bother if 125 is still in the 'fat' zone? :noway:

Lady- I like that site. Although it did say 104-137. I was 103 at 18...I think I would look like a wrinkled old lady at that weight now.

My average weight on that site was 127, I like that. I am shooting for 125.

But if I remain 147 and continue to feel this good....I will not complain:flowerforyou:
(oh yeah right, until I join DUDES thread on killing my scale!)
