( To the tune of" My Country 'tis of Thee")*

My legs are killing me,
My shapes not thrilling me,
I'm overweight!

I've got some work to do,
I'm going to see it through,
It's time for me to change my life.
It's not too late!
--Joyce Davis

Gleefully liberated from the TOPS song book.

*"For our international friends......"My Country, 'Tis of Thee", also known as "America", is an American patriotic song, whose lyrics were written by Samuel Francis Smith. The melody was derived from the British national anthem, God Save the King or Queen, by way of a German adaptation. The song served as a de facto national anthem of the United States for much of the 19th century."

I can just hear Ethel Merman belting out "America the Beautiful" now... She had such a choppy, staccato type delivery, but it was so powerful that it became a classic! (Not necessarily in the Classic sense, mind ya)
