I've decided NOT to finish the 30 Day Shred. That doesn't make me a quitter. It makes me realistic. I have found 2 intense exercises that I LOVE (jogging and tennis) so there is no reason to keep doing something that I absolutely hate. I'm looking for ideas on new things to do when I am in between jogging days and can't find a tennis partner. Any ideas??

Be careful about doing all cardio. Get some strength training in there somewhere.

Maybe try kickboxing or weights? I didn't like the 30 day shred either, after about 17 days I threw in the towel. I do body pump at my gym 1-2 times a week with weights on occasion. I love C25K too :)

I agree w/ you about 30 day shred. I was in pain for almost an entire month to the point where I could not function or do daily tasks. i wish I never purchased it. I enjoy lifting weights, kickboxing and walking a lot more. Maybe try some swimming too!!

i hated that dvd too. it was so boring. how about dancing with weights, just turn up the music loud, put a 5-7 lb weight in each hand, and MOVE. It's a lot of fun, and if you dance with your hands in the air or waving around, your arms are going to feel it (and you'll feel them the next day too).

I'm a C25K grad who did the 30DS during C25k. Now that I've completed both programs I've continued running and slacked off on any form of strength training. And let me tell you, I can definitely tell a difference in my running when I don't have any strength training to go with it. I can run longer, faster, stronger when I'm backing up my running with strength training.

So as MissCristie said, make sure you add strength training somehow. You'll be glad you did.

I'm not a fan of 30DS either, but I'm going to finish it just because I'm already on day 21. You need to do some strength training in between your cardio days. Good luck!

Kickboxing sounds like fun. It's not really in my budget to pay for a class, though, and the class in my area is on Saturday and I'd rather not send my daughter to daycare for that. Are there any good kickboxing videos?

It was hard but boring at the same time. I could DO it, but I really had to push through.. and the only thing u think about the entire time is what you're doing. When I jog I'm watching a show, or when I go outside I'll enjoy the scenery. Tennis is fun, bc I'm with friends.. so I like a distraction when I exercise. lol 30ds forces u to focus and think about what you're doing the whole time.

Try some strength training or weights. Maybe do the 200 squats or 100 pushups program. Not big calorie burners, but give you strength and build muscle.

I also do C25k and play tennis weekly. And like you I enjoy them both! On my off days, I do an interval walking program or spend time on my squats and situps.

Try TaeBo or even Turbo Jam.

I dont know if videos are for you then--if you like distractions-- I wonder if you would like biking-or I like the idea of dancing with arm wts--I am starting Insanity- but it works for me because i need to focus --i also wog (slow jog) and bike and lift wts. do you have a wii?? a lot of my friends really enjoy the workouts on wii. dont know how old your daughter is but she could even do some of the wii with you maybe.

I have an xbox 360 with kinect and we do play dance central and stuff like that. I think I'm gonna try turbo jam. even tho its a video, it burns calories fast so I wont have to do it as long. it looks more fun, too. I like the way I feel during cardio, and I think I didn't like the 30ds bc it mixed strength with it, so it made the cardio harder. (if that makes sense. I think id like to keep my strength and cardio separate.

Big ditto! After 8 weeks on C25K, my muscles went soft. I'm back doing strength training, and jogging about once a week, and I got my muscles back!
