Plastic Surgery

Has anyone lost a large amount of weight and had plastic surgery to remove the excess skin?

I am hoping that I end this journey (half way there today - WOOT!) with not too much extra skin, but after being so heavy for so long, I'm pretty sure it's inevitable.

I told my hubbin from the beginning that if I lose it all, I want the surgery and if he wouldn't go for that (he loves me the way I am - not crazy about me in makeup, getting tattoos, etc) then I wasn't going to bother. Turns out he's supportive of it, but honestly, I'm terrified.

Has anyone had a tummy tuck, breast lift, lipo, anything?? How painful is the recovery?

I have excess skin on my belly but mostly that is from having my kids 14 months apart and gaining 110 lbs between the 2 of them, now that I have lost 85 lbs my belly looks gross
my goal is to loose another 25 before my youngest's first birthday in November
then my plan is to have a breast reduction and a tummy tuck

I have the same issue. I think that after I lose all this weight, I will have to have a tummy tuck and breast lift/implants. Especially with the way my body is looking now.

Do a quick search on the board for "extra skin" or "plastic surgery" - you'll get all kinds of reading.

I tucked EVERYTHING. It was painful, but worth every second of misery. From what I remember (and I was hazy from the pain pills), it was a couple days of REAL pain, 3-4 days of moderate, and the rest was tolerable. WORTH IT!

    Here's what I had done:
    - a breast reduction with a lift. Later I had implants placed. (I went from an F to an A to a D)
    - full body lift
    - bilateral legs/thighs
    - back fat removed

It was over 25 lbs in 1 surgery, and I'm not sure how much in the 2nd

The only thing I didn't have done were my arms. While I would have loved to have them done, too, after all the surgeries I found out I had a clotting disorder and more surgeries weren't an option.

I have not... but I know several girls who have had breast reductions and tummy tucks. Tummy tucks are very painful. But those girls are so much happier and more confident now.

I had a tummy tuck a few years after my 3rd baby. I worked my way down to 145 prior to surgery as my surgeon suggested being at "goal weight." In the years after the surgery I worked my way up to 183, which I am now working off. I have to say, most people didn't realize just how much I really weighed because of my flat tummy. The only semi bad thing about gaining that weight is I have a very slight pouch above where my abs were pulled, but with my recent weight lost that has diminished.

I did the search for "extra skin" and found this article. It's an interesting read.

I'm going to buy this book today. I have been saying these things all along, but he gives it scientific clarification and a formula to make it easy to achieve weight loss this way.

I have breast implants and it was not too bad. Mine hurt for a few weeks but I had bigger implants. They still bug me though and the fatter I got, the more I hated my implants. At this point I would like to lose the weight, get rid of my implants and get a tummy tuck, :)
