How often to you "recalibrate" your daily calories?

I have lost about 12-13 pounds so far on MFP. Only just last night I re-entered my goals based on my weight loss and it was a 70 calorie a day loss. I am not bothered by the loss of calories, but the fact that I have been overeating for I don't know how long. So I am wondering....how often should I "recalibrate" my calorie goals? Every time I lose weight? Every so many pounds? Suggestions?

Well MFP suggests every 10 lbs. I'd say check on your progress every month maybe and see how you're doing?

IF you are entering your losses into MFP, it will ask you if you want to recalculate every 10 pounds of loss.

I recalibrate every time I enter a new weight.

Every 10 lbs or so is probably a good guideline. Before that, the 50 or 60 calorie difference a day is going to make so little of a difference that it's really not something you should stress about.

    I just did it now, I always forgot, I lost 40cals a day :(

I changed my HRM today too, another thing I tend to forget.

Well done on the reminder :)

I could have sworn that it made the changes for me automatically according to my weigh-ins?

I went into my diet/fitness settings, but the weight change was already in there. Is there someplace else I should do this?

well the reason mine changed was because I went from being sedentary to very active and I never changed the settings...I also changed the amount of exercise I wanted to do a week....so thats when It told me I should be eating more...

I think what they are saying is if you are excercising to take it off of sedatary life style. i change mine to lightly active because i do have a desk job..it did not change me from 1200 calories a day. My current weight was in there too..
