I think this recipe had good amount of bacon... but where's the chocolate?

Chocolate + bacon & only 30,000 calories. We have a winner!

This sounds similar to the Bacon Fat Enema diet that I tried... FYI you'll need to buy stock in new underwear. Your's sounds much more fun.

You could always try a Bacon Maple Bar from Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, Oregon.

The reason you would drop weight would have nothing to do with it being chocolate or bacon. It is because you are cutting out a whole bunch of stuff. But it isn't good for you.

    Those look interesting.
  • If a person was to try the Chocolate Covered Bacon Diet, I heard it is best to alternate between Chocolate Covered Bacon and Bacon Wrapped Chocolate. This confuses the body, and keeps it from going into "starvation mode".

Do you think there is any truth to that?....

I have had that, though it was in Eugene. It was wonderful.

I'll have to check out Voodoo Doughnuts some day. I'm not too far north of Portland. I have heard of them, just because the Portland Timbers posts photos of some of their doughnut creations.

I think it would only work if you had an appetizer of deep fried twinkies and washed it down with a milkshake. Now you're talking some serious kicking butt on that plateau. Oh wait, did you want to go up or down?

Not sure about the white chocolate idea, but Nutella does sound good...
Nutella covered bacon? That is the dumbest idea I've heard for years.

Chocolate sets firm, but nutella would stay all gooey and the slices of bacon would all stick together, yuck.

Absolutely, your body can tell the difference I'm sure.

Thank you for the input. I was pretty sure that doing the alternating between Chocolate Covered Bacon and Bacon Wrapped Chocolate was a good idea.... Nice point about the Nutella too, as I guess Bacon Wrapped Nutella wouldn't work so well.

I do hope you're also alternating between milk chocolate and dark chocolate. REALLY confuses the body and prevents a plateau. Also, don't EVER use white chocolate. Since it's missing the key ingredient of real chocolate, it doesn't work.

I do like to switch to Canadian bacon once in a while. Seems to work as well as regular bacon.

A donut shop here has maple bacon donuts - I wonder if it would work to eat one of them before each meal.

Probably best to have one before meals too - remember the golden rule, NEVER eat on an empty stomach.

Spreadborough, I've given this some thought and come to the conclusion that nutella does have a place on this diet.

Crispy bacon could be crumbled then stirred into nutella to make a well balanced, sugar and fat rich meal replacement.

Don't make the mistake of spreading it on wholewheat bread though, a lot of people don't realise just how heavy fibre is, and seem surprised when they are told that stays in your digestive system for up to two months!

EDIT - Whoever posted that picture of a Maple Bacon Doughnut, you're sick and twisted. Also, I am now craving one dammit, and they're 4,800 miles away!

My only concern with the crumbled bacon in Nutella is that most people won't put enough bacon in. I mean, you really need to compensate for all those hazelnuts they use in Nutella. This diet really is about the focus on bacon and chocolate. Oh, and drinking enough diet soda to wash it all down.

Chocolate covered bacon is sold in my hometown, Santa Cruz California. It's a health-nut city as well, with lots of thin people........

I think you are on to something. And I like it.
