Let's try this again

Greetings all; I guess like everybody else here I'm trying to lose weight. "Back in the day" I was quite fit, but it took a lot of effort. Literally hours a day in the gym and mile of running. Fast forward 20 years and I haven't run more than ten steps in years and am at least 100lbs overweight.
So, I'm 43 and my long term goal is to lose 100 lbs. My short term goal is to lose 5 lbs by the end of July. My two biggest obstacles are school and food. In addition to working full-time I attend school for 9-12 credits a semester, which cramps the schedule just a tad. My other obstacle is food. I love food. This last week of tracking what I eat and being concious of it has been the hardest thing I've done since boot camp.
Wish me luck....oh, I've lost 2 pounds in the week that I've been doing this...yay!

Start slow. If you try to cut too much right away you will quit. Portion control.0

Awesome on the two pounds!! But I do agree. Start slow. If you start going full tilt you'll burn yourself out and it can be harder to get back on track if you fall off the wagon (this I know from personal experience because I'm going through it now LOL!!) Good luck on your journey and if you need friends, friend me!0

Slow and Steady wins the race, if you try to do too much too soon your body will sabotage you, and you wont lose anything, or the minute you go away from your diet you will blow up like a balloon. Losing weight and taking the emotion out of eating is very, very difficult. You have to have faith in yourself that you can do it, and a great support group. I found since I have been getting more friends on here and made my food diary available for them to see I feel like I have really become accountable for what I eat. They are wonderful! It is also best to forgive yourself if you fall off the healthy trail, pick yourself back up and get back at it. If you let it get you down, it doesn't help your ultimate goal, to get rid of the weight. I sincerely wish you the best of luck and I would be glad to be your friend on here to help you in your journey! Take Care!0
