That's beautiful ... I always find it hard to admit that health is partly "for me" - always seems selfish ... but this all changed when I was on an airplane during the emergency drill ... they said "put your oxygen mask on first before trying to help others" ... and I realized that there was a message in there ... in the fact that we always want to put the "mask" on children and others first - but if we pass out - we are no help to anyone ... and our health is no different ... we must first find inner happiness/health ... then the rest just overflows onto those around us ...0

I agree with you - it's a common theme that men (sorry guys) tend to be problem solvers for their own needs, and women tend to be problem solvers for others' needs and feel selfish if they do something for themselves. But, I am such a happier human being since I started my weight loss journey that I know I'm a better mother to my son than I would have been otherwise. For instance, I have a stressful, demanding job, and there are times when I come home and just want to snap at anyone that gets in my face even just a little bit. Instead of doing that, I exercise, and - poof - I'm sane again. It's like magic!0
