This makes me miss riding so much!!
I grew up around horses and they were my whole life until I moved away to go to university.
I have two ponies at my parents house, a 26 year old who I've had since I was 8 and a 20 year old thoroughbred x welsh (odd mix I know). I used to do dressage and some Hunter show classes on the 20 year old until I turned 17 and couldn't show him anymore. Now I live on the otherside of the country and can't even ride anymore and I hate that.

I don't ride, it's probably about 25 years since I rode (subjecting a horse to having my weight sitting on it would probably be cruelty).
I do co-own horses though with a friend of mine.
At the moment we have:-
a six year old gelding called "Use the Stinger" that is in training to go racing.
We used to have a 12 year old gelding called "Natural Storm" as well but he had to be put down after injuring his pelvis in a freak accident in his stable.
We also have a 5 year old gelding called "Go Go Nana" on loan to us with an option to buy him if we think he might make a good race horse.0 -
I ride
I do endurance with my Arabian, and right now I'm looking for an APHA or AQHA performance horse, as I'd like to get into team penning, cutting, reining, barrels, etc.
Right now I ride for work, so I'm riding three days a week but I'd like to up that. I ride drafts for someone, a Belgian, Clydesdale, and Percheron/TB cross, and a push button performance gelding [who is the horse who is inspiring me to get back into western performance!]
I think it's a wonderful workout! Especially lots of long trotting and posting!
So right now I just have my Arabian, and her "friend" - a mini. She can't be alone or she gets depressed, so I went and got her a mini. Since I don't like goats haha0 -
I have a 4 year old TB mare, who is just fantastic (for the most part, but she's 4, and a TB, so there are some days of insanity!). I try to ride at least 4 times a week. I had a 20 year hiatus from riding, and am thrilled to be doing it again. And it's something I can share with my daughter, who rides just about as much as I do.
There's a group here if you want join us: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/32-horseback-riders0 -
I have a 17'2 Irish thoroughbred called Boss III, he is bay with a white star. We used to team chase and do one and three day events until I fell pregnant and then fell pregnant again and now have 4 kids a no time. Our neighbours daughter rides him for us and we have 2 ponies for the girls. They are placid welsh ponies and about 20 years old. We decided just to get 2 to start with and the all ride on different days or it gets too chaotic!0
