The yo-yo of the early days

I've been on MFP since early May. I started about 2 weeks before we went to Europe on vacation, lost 3 lbs in 10 days, then spent almost 2 weeks in Greece and Rome, Italy and gained 4 lbs while I was gone (I think most of it was the pasta in Italy!) Since I've been back, I've been doing great, usually coming in at or within 200 calories below the 1420/day that was set for me 5 out of 7 days. Even when I go over, it's not been a huge amount, within 250 calories, every day except one. Even staying below the daily count, I'm still fluctuating a lot. I know I don't drink enough in general, and I've been trying to do better, but the majority of my fluids are fruit2o (I can't stand plain water unless it's ice cold and I chug it), so I'm not loading up on sodas or anything like that.
My boyfriend's mom is coming to visit for 3 weeks on Friday, and we are going on a cruise while she's here. It's discouraging that I can't get off the yo-yo of the early days here and start seeing a positive loss. My net loss as of this morning is only 2 lbs.

Artifically sweetend drinks like the Fruit 2o are not going to help with weight loss. Try 100% lemon juice or any other 100% fruit juice a tablespoon. To help flavor it.

Interesting Water Facts
We all know that water is important, but I’ve never seen it described like this before!!!!
75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. ( Likely applies to half the world population). In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for Hunger. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as much as 3%. One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of dieters studied in a U- Washington study. Lack of water, the 1# trigger of daytime fatigue. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
Are you drinking the amount of water you should everyday???0 -
