If you eat hot dogs and frozen meals daily, you'd better start tracking your sodium...and drink lots of water to go with it.

Hot dogs are comprised of uteruses and foreskins. Delicious, though.

    That is disturbing!

Can you pack your lunch and take it to the pool? You can maybe do a hot dog maybe 2 days out of the week, but I wouldn't do it everyday. Its just too much fat. You can pack a sandwich and some fruit? Or even make yourself a salad? To me that sounds a lot better than the hot dog anyways.

I love hot dogs and my fried foods....but they dont love me back..lol. I have recently started taking my lunch to work. I did eat a lot of frozen meals too. But the sodium was making water retention and weight loss very difficult. I now only save them for when I cant cook on my own. Eating more whole, healthy, non processed or fried foods are the best. Try turkey sandwiches, watermelon and carrot sticks for lunch. You can get a lunch bag very cheap..

Another idea is to try only to eat at pool 2 x a week. Then take the money you save and put into a jar daily. By the end of the month, buy yourself something fabulous with the money you save. For example, even if hotdog is only $2.00 a day, $2.00 x 5 days (pack your lunch on other days) ( only get hot dog 2 x a week)..by end of month you would save $ 40.00, by end of year $480. You can buy a new swim suit or new clothes with savings.

    Just saying...hope it works.

I eat lean cuisnes cause there quick and really good and then I still have calories left.I don't eat them all the time though but I do like them alot.Yes I do swim laps , makes me pretty hungry afterwards.Another thing I am curious about is if I was to eat something like chicken strips and fries would that be acceptable long as it's under my calorie limit?I don't want to go over at all just making sure something on that order is ok here and there long as it's within your limit

I honestly believe anything and everything is fine...in moderation. Eat your hot dogs, chicken strips, fries, Lean Cuisine (taso...some of them actually aren't that terrible anymore! Much more fiber, fruits, veggies, etc than there used to be!) - just try to log your calories accurately (including what you burn as well as what you eat) and stay within your calorie budget. If you generally try to eat more veggies/fruits/fiber/lean protein, hots dogs or chicken strips a couple times a week won't kill you.

I like that idea alot about the savings. The reason why I have a lean cuisine meal for dinner cause it's hard to come up with a dinner thats healthy.Afraid i'd go over on calories somehow but will work on that.I do really love mcdonalds grilled chicken salads alot , there very good.My grandma that I live with makes really good home cooked meals , she makes stuff like steak , bbq chicken and pasta. In everyones opinion anyways to lighten it up to less calories?I want to eat what I like but still cut out what is fattening.I do know leave off the butter on the baked potato is once , any suggestions , I believe I can do this I just really gotta motivate myself.

when i was trying to lose, i often had a weightwatchers ready meal as my evening meal with a big side helping of vegetables, as an easy way to cut several hundred calories out of my diet without feeling deprived.
Depending what you get, theyre not so bad as PART of a balanced diet, but you need to be careful if all of your diet is very high salt processed food, as not only is it bad for your waistline and can hinder weightloss due to water retention, its really bad for your heart and kidneys too x
moderation is key. You can still eat these things, but just not all the time

I have kids and still cook "normal" meals for my family. Ask Gma to get leaner cuts of steak, eat smaller portions of it. Ask her to pull the skin off a few pieces of chicken for you. Whole wheat pasta, brown rice, no butter on veggies, no added salt, lean ground beef, turkey sausage. If anything, eat small portions of what she makes and pair it with a big salad and low cal dressing.

Sounds good , giving up everything at once is hard but right now i'll focus on staying within my calorie limit.
