So, I have a stress fracture in my foot and my doctor said I'm not allowed to run or anything. So, does anybody have any cardio ideas that won't put too much strain on my foot? If you do, please help me!

i have a stress fracture aswell! so so so painful! mine seems to be healing now, although i was walking on it for a month without knowing so its probably taking longer to heal that normally.

but i found that just walking was really painful :/ you should rest it until you feel well enough to walk on it again, because you dont want to hurt yourself even more.

Where do you exercise? Is it a gym or outdoors. Swimming is of course a great workout with barely any strain on your foot. Maybe rowing or anything that would put emphasis on your upper body. Some examples could be boxing, sit ups, pull ups, can be great cardio if done quickly and alternated.

When I had a hairline fracture in my foot (actually had 4 at the time), I found that doing bicycle crunches helped along with any weight lifting for your upper body. NO RUNNING, WALKING OR ANYTHING THAT PUTS PRESSURE ON THAT PART!!! I was on crutches for 4 weeks when they found out how many fractures I had. Just be really careful, or just don't exercise until you feel better.

agree with the others......SWIM SWIM SWIM... you don't really want to be kicking much anyways.

If you are a gym member at a gym that offers boxing, and you are able to stand. Try the speed bags. Great for the shoulders and a great upper body cardio workout.

Good luck finding things you can do while you heal!
