Quick and Easy?

Hey All! I met with my trainer yesterday and it went really well! I didn't gain as much weight as I thought I did from my 10 days on continuous binging, plus I learned a lot of things...Such as my sodium intake is THROUGH THE ROOF! Geez...Over 2000 mg...Yikes!
So, the SmartOnes that I pack for lunch every day obviously have a lot of sodium in them. Anyone have any quick, easy, FILLING lunch ideas that I can pack and take to work with me? Thank you all so much!!

Over 2000 mgs isn't bad, depending how over--for a "normal" person, meaning someone without high blood pressure, diabetes, or similar healthy issues, 2200-2500 is the suggest daily intake. Otherwise, 1600 mgs per day.
Oh, and as for "quick, easy" lunches--avoid any pre-packaged or processed foods. Try to get low-sodium lunch meats, etc.
But again, depending on how over you are, your sodium might not really be that bad as is.0 -
if fyou like the smart ones meals, try fixing dishes at home, make extra and freeze it in tupperware. thaw overnight and bring with you to work to microwave for lunch.
I have to agree with shorerider though, 2000 is not too high for sodium intake really.0 -
you have to really take a look at what you are getting your sodium from....my cottage cheese that I eat has 410 mg for 1/2 cup...hello? I try to stay under 2500mgs a day. I drink at least a gallon of water a day and that helps flush it all out!!
Quick and easy lunches for me consist of salad with 1/8 cup low fat mozzorella cheese, 3 hard boiled eggs (two just the whites, only ONE yoke), some crasins and some spray asian silk dressing. It is SOOOOOO Good and easy to make I put it together the night before (crack eggs at work) and voila....I also make Caesar Chicken wraps....YUMMM....low fat caesar dressing, grilled chicken, romaine lettuce wrapped in a tortilla....(make sure to use the fajita size tortilla).
I grill up at least 3 days worth of chicken at a time for the wraps...to make it easier on me.0 -
