calling all running interval experts

So I had my thyroid gland removed 15 days ago and feel pretty good. But I am easing back into my exercise. Traditionally, I jog two or three days per week. So last week, I did my usual 3.6 mile route, but set intervals for 3 minutes of walking and 1 minute of running. It was hard the first day, but much easier the second day. Tomorrow I'd like to kick it up a (teeny) notch. Should I decrease the walking time by 30 seconds, or increase the running time by 30 seconds? Sounds the same, but isn't. I've gotten the all clear from my surgeon, but don't want to overdo it lest I fall into the mental trap of thinking I can't do it at all.
Thanks in advance!

Its amazing how quickly you have gotten back into the swing of things!
Listen to how your body feels. I highly suggest you decrease your walking time. I would eventually try to get to running a minute, walking a minute. Another option would include running two minutes, walking one. I think if you change things up a bit, doing both of these workouts, your body will thank you. This can really help improve your speed as well!
You CAN do it all, and you rock!
Best of luck to you0 -
Think of what you can do and times that by atleast 2.
I always say running is 80% mental. Just when you think you have given up, just go a little further.0 -
I would increase the running time and leave the walking time alone0
