I abso adore BBQ Sauce, especially Sweet Baby Ray's, yum! :drinker: I slather it all over my ribs, or chicken, or loins, or (almost) just about anything I grill. Problem is, it's SO high in calories, ouch! :grumble: :noway: Does anyone in here have any suggestions for tasty, fun, yet low cal, and low sugar BBQ Sauce?

Umm no but I do know the YUMMIEST one ever...Montgomery Inn BBQ Sauce!
Montgomery Inn is a famous restaurant here in Cincinnati that's famous for their BBQ ribs. It's the place all the "famous" people (presidents & such) stop at when they are in town. We smother the BBQ sauce on grilled chicken and OMG! So good your tongue will slap your brains out!0 -
Been there done that... and yes the ribs there are A maze ing! :drinker: I used to go back when it was actually IN Montgomery, not Cinti (shows how old I am , hehehehe).0

I would search google for a homemade receipe or search it for a low sugar brand that maybe in stores. With the homemade you can add artificial sweetner.0

Oh Sweet Baby Ray's
How do I love thee
Let me count the ways:
BBQ pork sandwich
BBQ chicken salad
BBQ chicken pizza
BBQ black beans
Carrots in BBQ sauce
Nuggets in BBQ
BBQ tenderloin
BBQ mixed in light sour cream served with chicken and cheese on pitas
Sweet Baby Rays gets my vote!
Not sure how it compares calorie wise to other brands but its worth each and every one!0 -
BBQ Sauce
1 tablespoon canola or extra virgin olive oil
1 cup onion, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 beef bouillon cubes
1/2 cup hot water
3 (6-ounce) cans tomato paste, divided use
1 cup SPLENDA® Granular
3/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons liquid smoke, hickory flavored
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Tabasco (plus 1 teaspoon for a spicier sauce)
Place oil in a large saucepan. Add onions and garlic. Saute over medium heat until translucent (approximately 2 to 3 minutes).
Mix the bouillon and water until partially dissolved. Add bouillon mixture and all remaining ingredients to the saucepan. Stir well using a wire whisk.
Simmer, uncovered, 25 to 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Stir frequently. Refrigerate overnight in a non-metallic container. Sauce is best if prepared a day before using. Keeps well, refrigerated, for 1 week.
Makes 4 cups (32-ounces) (or 42 (3/4-ounce) servings).
