hello everyone my name is erin i'm 30 live in foxboro, ma i have 2 kids a husband 2 dogs and a kitten.. i used to be 242lbs and now i'm 174. i lost my weight a couple years ago.. but when i had my son who is now 16 months i got hooked on the food again so i have been battling the weight gain again..
i have battled my whole life. im addicted to food.. i think about fod 24/7 i love to workout but had to drop my gym membership due to financial issues and now trying to get myself to do anything active is like pulling teeth..
i have done so many diets tried so many pills.. i'm now on medication that prevents me from trying any pills again which is good because if i'm going to do it i need to do it right.. anyway this is a tough time in life right now so all i want to do is eat.. i'm an addict and thats all there is to it.. i know its bad for me but i like the way it tastes and feels then i get upset when i see the scale going up..
i would love to have some friends on here for a little encouragement, support and ideas.. and if there is anyone in my area feel free to contact me so we can exercise..
good luck to everyone and have a great day.
nice to meet you... erin!:flowerforyou:

Bless your heart. It takes a lot of courage to share and admit that you have food issues. I'm one that likes to hide mine. It's great that you are aware of yours. That's the first step. Now you can be surrounded by positive people who have similar interests and a plethora of information.
I used to be Bulimic. But now that I know how to eat properly I love food and I do think about it a lot probably because I eat every 3 hours.
The best of luck and be sure to check in every day no matter what.0 -
Oh Erin, First of all, well done on that massive weight loss, that's amazing! You should be so proud of yourself for that. Oh I soo know how you feel. A food addiction is awful. No one around you takes it seriously so you get zero help and support. But you will get all the help, ideas and support you need from here, trust me. We are all a nice bunch and know exactly what you are going though. Feel free to add me if you like and good luck with your journey.

I agree, you are very brave to face this. Admitting and accepting is a HUGE part of moving forward, so you have already made an important step. Treat this day by day, please PLEASE don't do the " I have to lose x lbs in y days/months' type of objective...treat this as a lifestyle change. We all NEED food, and use this journey to * understand * food, about nutrients and about what is actually * good * for you in a long term.
Mfp is a place that has nothing but inspirational people...all of which have been at some stage or another, been in the same situation that you are in now...that it's time to take the step to have a healthier, better longer life and one with great quality...and these same people will drive, guide, support you to whatever you wish to achieve.
Good luck...and congratulations on a fantastic choice of a new lifestyle :-)0 -
