edited September 2024 in Health and Weight Loss
Going to Mallorca for a week in July. Normally a time to forget about any "weight control" well this time it's different. I consciously started making an effort at the beginning of May and have lost 24lbs in total since so i don't want to break out of it now.
Any advise on how to keep the weight under control during a break away?

If you have a cell phone get the app to help log things down. If not then make sure you know what your calorie for each day should be and keep a written log ask restaurants for nutritional info to help out and exercise as much as possible walking, running biking etc... But above all enjoy yourself its ok to let go once in awhile dont stress if you gain a few back you've done so well you will lose it again :). Enjoy your vacation.

Stay active. Weight loss is really about 75% what you DO, & 25% what you eat. When I was on Holiday, I had lite breakfasts & lunches... tried to stay active through the day & snack only self-pre-packaged snacks like 10 almonds, or granola/crasin trail mix.

Dinner? You gotta give it to yourself. Don't go crazy though... but track your calories. If you stay active enough, you could have 1000 calories left for a really nice dinner.

And I don't care what everyone else is doing, stick to 1 glass of wine, or beer etc if your planning to drink. Mixed drinks? Go with regular cola. The diet stuff is made with aspertame, or other stuff that just turns your body to acid & makes you store fat.

i got an iPod touch for logging but there's no chance that i'm going to ask what the calorie content of each meal is. i'd feel like a freak

I am on vacation now and have been sticking to my healthy eating. I check out restaurant nutrition ahead of time and plan my meals accordingly. I exercise by taking a walk.

It is hard to log when you are always eating out. I would just do the best you can. Try to be strict about portion size. Eat salads. Also, if you are staying in a hotel, find a grocery and buy healthy snacks for your room. Don't fall prey to vending machines, room service, or little refrigerators stocked with booze and candy. Use the hotel gym. Most of all, have fun!

Staying in an apartment, guess i need to spend lots of time in the pool to negate the calories :drinker:
