Day 456 - ???

I've been utilizing MFP for 6 months and actually have dropped off most of my time with FB. I started my journey in April 2010 and hit my goal in September 2010, I then set new goals and achieved those goals in Feb 2011. Now I'm at a weight that is decent (some folks think I'm too slim) I find that I have moments or days where I trend up as high as 10 lbs and then back down again.
During my first year, I had a dedication about my nutrition that seemed to be extremely focused (just ask my wife and friends) now I seem to not be as focused and tend to be more forgiving on myself about food choices.
My question is this...how many of MFP folks deal with this or has dealt with this focus or dedication issue I'm referring too. I'm looking for some feedback and inspiration. Thanks!!!
btw...I still am very focused on my exercise goals

I'm a HARDCORE exerciser...big time hiker and backpacker, gym rat.,,,but my eating is my weakness!!!
Eating healthy is what keeps weight off not so much working out!!!! I gained 10 pounds back in a year..it's easy to do, you don't even need to eat junk food. I am starting to log again and now I"m loosing...some people need to log and you might be one of them...even if you log 5 days a week that would help! By the way you look great!0 -
I sound like you, minus the latest bit, Im still extremely focussed to the extreme. I joined June 2010, 5lb ish from goal now and one person said Id 'lost enough now' - Id say she was jealous more like but hey ho...0

I know what you mean. I was on a strict diet since Dec 6, 2010 to June 6 2011 I was doin' Power90 & P90X Lean. I lost 42 lbs in that time.
I think we get to comfortable, in our new body - we tend to think - 'Hey, I can treat myself to this, and that - than this and than turns into a day, week or maybe a month' ...
You will need to find somethin' to charge your mind again, to start that motivation again. You may need to be strict on yourself again.
As for Skinny - You look FIT to me, not Skinny. I hate that word when people see me. I always say correct them.
I haven't been good on eatin' wise in the month of June. But, I kicked myself in the *kitten* a few days before July 1st and I am back onto my strict mealplan. I am now focusin' on muscle gain.
We should check in with each other each week, and see how well we did xo0 -
WOW!! Congrats on such a wonderful accomplishment!! I too have lost over 100 lbs and I have kept it off for 3 yrs now. I am somewhat new to MFP, but I did lose it by writing down what I ate and working out on a reg basis. I did gain 20 lbs from my lowest and that is when I found MFP and it has helped me get refocused. I think it is somewhat normal to become a little unfocused after you have put so much effort into losing that much weight. It took me a year and a half to lose it. My birthday and the holidays are always hard. I can easily gain 10 lbs the week of Christmas! I have yo-yo'd those 10 lbs you were talking about, but just like you, this past year, I started having more bad days than I usually allowed myself and I slowly gained 20 lbs!! I am about back where I want to be. I don't know if I have any answers for you, but agree that I think it is somewhat normal to become a little less focused once you hit your goal. But as long as you continue to log your food on a regular basis and keep an eye on the scale, and don't let it creep up too much, I think you will be fine!
Congratulations again!!
