Ok I need some advice. I used to take about a million vitamins everyday, now I only take a prenatal everyday. I have about 4 months before having to worry about trying to conceive, that's why I'm losing weight and taking the prenatal vitamins. But, a friend told me to take Algal Omega 3/DHA supplements to help my fertility.

So my question is, what are the other helth benefits of taking a DHA supplement, other than for fertility or for pregnancy?

    Hi,

I recommend you watch this video on vitamins and supplements. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntLcx3UaZ1o&feature=relmfu
It's over an hour long and it might just make you eat more vegetables.

    Good health to you.

Oh darn! I was hoping that there were other benefits to taking it. I wanna add stuff that's gonna help me right now, instead of just later on.

I'm on my phone today so can't type a lengthy response. If you google Omega 3 you'll find a lot of info. Basically, most Western diets are far too high in Omega 6 and far too low in Omega 3, so supplementation with Omega 3 does benefit most people by restoring the proper O3 to O6 balance. If you are thinking of conceiving, you'll want to watch your O3 sources so they aren't contaminated with heavy metals or carrying excessive vitamins.

Thank you for this! I just read that most people don't get the proper amount of O3. I guess I just have to research this A LOT more. Thank you for this response!
