Okay, it is only my third day and I have fell of the "wagon". My day started off hectic and just got worse as the day went on. I am emotional eater so needless to say by the time I logged on today I had ate so much I couldn't remember everything I had ate to log it.

Normally I would never have admitted that to anyone but I guess I need to be brutally honest with myself. I need help guys. I just don't know if I have the strength to do this.

Of course you do, everyone does.
It's not gonna be easy and you will have off days.
You are changing a lifestyle and old habits, there are gonna be relapses.
Don't beat yourself up. Pick yourself up and get back on track IMMEDIATELY, not later.

Oh you definitely have the strength. At least you realized and verbalized the problem...that's half the battle. Don't start over tomorrow...start right now. Re-commit to yourself and the next time you feel overwhelmed...step away from the Ben and Jerry's and go for a walk :flowerforyou:

You can do this. This is your mantra! Tell me, do you have access to the computer when you get upset? If you do, then when you get upset come on this site and post a cry for help! One, it will get it our of your system and two, I haven't ever seen someone not reply to someone who needs immediate help to stop their emotional eating. Sometimes just coming on here and reading will help instead of eating. Try it for a week and see if it works for you. I used to come on when I needed a literal kick in the pants to exercise! Someone always answered me! And they got me moving! So try it ! Good luck, if I am on and I see you post I will answer you.

You CAN do it!! You've been doing it....pick yourself up....wipe away the tears of frustration and dust off your butt....and look back to what you did the first two days you were successful.

If you think you Can't ....well then you can't! If you believe you can....then You absolutely CAN! It's really that simple...a mindset is so often how you start...... it's a moment by moment, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day journey. Then it becomes a lifestyle and we still need to always keep in mind what our goal is.

To become healthier beings....goals are important for getting us there...but what happens when we meet our goal of the 'wedding' etc.....if we set a goal of wanting to gain back our healthy, tone our bodies, gain back our selfesteem......those are truly lifetime goals that will keep us on the path.

You're doing fine....we all have those certain times when we doubt ourselves....but as you said...you have 2 days behind you. Begin right now to make it a good one Tomorrow!

Pre-plan your meals for the entire day...including snacks (5-6 mini meals is a great way to spread it out through the day) plan out your excercise routine.....and just DO IT!!:flowerforyou:

Hang in there, Baby! Tomorrow is a brand new day! I am a total food addict...but I have found that if I use custard cups to eat out of, it seems I am eating much more than I actually am, and I can have seconds and thirds if I want. Also, eating small amounts at a time gives your body time to feel satisfied, and you have to actually get up to go back and get more! Plus...smaller portions mean that you can eat more often, which helps me to curb my food addiction. Binge eating is not about hunger, it's about the mind feeling satisfied. Don't be too hard on yourself for going over board...just start out fresh tomorow. It's not a diet so much as it is a change in the way you eat for life. And don't tell yourself that you will never be able to eat certain foods! You can eat ANYTHING you want...it's all about portion size! Good luck!!

You can do this. You just have to think that you are going to have a lot of ups and downs like we all do. It isn't going to be easy some days and other days are going to be wonderful. Just think that if you fall off the wagon just pick urself back up and a log a message and we all will get you through it. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!
  • don't worry sometimes it takes a few days...i also am a emotional eater and there are many things that stress me out whether it's the job or life in general. just take it one day at a time. I started two days ago and although i have not kept to the calories of 1200(gone way over), today was better than yesterday therefore i consider it an accomplishment. make sure your honest and document everything. it really gives you an understanding of the food you eat.

whatever you do don't give up...i have been trying for years to lose which i'm sure many of us can
relate....keep trying it's worth it, you're worth it

Every day is a new start.

If you fall off the wagon, just hop back on. In the greater scheme of things, one day is not going to make a whole lot of difference. :flowerforyou:

Just wanted to check in with you real quick....are you sure you should only be eating 1200 calories according to MFP? That seems a bit low for the lbs. you want to take off. I may be way off base here...so say so if I am.... Just be sure you're adding your excercise cals back in so you are getting enough to eat to fuel you body!:flowerforyou:

1200 just is so low for most folks on here and didn't want you to be missing out on nutrition for your body:drinker:

Whoa! I like that! "Perfectionism is not necessary....."shoot for 100%, settle for 80%!"......hm.....yup, I can see how that would work for me....I really need to kill the perfectionism attempts as there is no such thing:huh:

I typed that back out because I want it to go into my brain....think I'm gonna write that down and put it up somewhere....!!!

Wow, thanks Jenny....those are some empowering words.....I know we all hear things on here differently but for me.....this was one of those 'GEE I NEEDED TO HEAR THAT" type of thing:flowerforyou:

You are not alone! Personally, I've had a really rough couple of months with dealing with a lot of stress. My biggest problem when I'm stressed is not what I eat, it's what I don't eat. In fact, it's that my appetite completely goes out the window. We can get through this!

Each and every time I post something in hopes to give someone else the support that they need, I don't just post it for them. I post it for me too! And every time I read a post that is supportive and encouraging to someone else, it's helping me too.

You can do this. Just try to have more good days then bad ones. Remember it took a while to put on the weight and it will take a while to get it off. This is a journey. One step at a time. You are in the right place and getting a good start just keep taking those steps. It does get easier with practice. Just remember I think I can,I think I can,I think I can.

feetness_chick - I agree, 1200 is as low as one can go and not recommended for a prologed time period.
Let me know if you want me to recech your calories as a second opinion. I need to know weight/height/age and the type of activity you are doing.
