shoulder injury - any exercises to do?

So I woke up this morning with the most painful ache in my shoulder (and arm too) ever. Went to the doctor and I've been referred for an x ray. Could be related to a fracture I had 10 years ago.

Anyway...I can't not do exercises for however long it's going to take to heal - so is there any exercises I can do which will burn a decent amount of calories but not put too much pressure on my shoulder? I've been doing Zumba recently, and I feel this has probably been the cause.

Any suggestions would be great, just want to get exercising but don't know what to do!

Ouch! Hope you get to feeling better soon. To answer your questions, how about stair climbing, step aerobics, squats, or the treadmill?

squats and lunges. or, if you have access to a pool, maybe try to just tread water (instead of using your whole body to swim)

Elliptical (not using the handle bars that move but the ones that usually help track heart rate instead)
    Stationary bike
    walking/running
    swimming
  • whenever someone on our team has a shoulder injury, our athletic trainers tell them to:
    1. HEAL -dont push it!
    2. "Run" in a pool if you can! This is a great way to burn 100 calories in ten minutes and to tone up your legs/butt!
    3. Bike
    4. Core-core-and more core! Strengthen your core by doing different abb exercises. Work on balance and you will tone everything (except your arms of course)

    Hope this helps!
