Exercise: Weight lifting 5x per week (BodyBuilding.com's Lee Labrada 12 Week Challenge), spinning, high incline 30-second interval treadmill, light cardio or yoga on rest days, Zumba for fun
Food: Protein, protein, protein!, eating throughout the day, packing snacks and lunch for work, drinking water, quitting soda, cheat days, eating my exercise calories (all of my weight lifting and most of my cardio), meal planning and grocery shopping every Sunday
Attitude: Setting goals, not beating myself up if I didn't reach a goal, readjust said goals and recognizing unrealistic expectations, course correcting if I am too far off the proven path, completing my first 5k (NOTE: I signed up 2 weeks before the race and didn't train, just do it!), planning a race schedule for fall/winter, recognizing trigger foods (oh, DoubleStuf Oreos), knowing when I am hungry and when I am just bored, no excuses, making myself a priority
Victories:
I have lost 4.5 inches off my waist, 3.5 inches off my hips and an inch off my neck.
I am WAY stronger than when I started.
Holy shoulders and biceps, Batman! (No inch lost or gained but composition is totes more muscle now)
I get really happy watching guys pick up dumbbells, knowing I can do the same exercise with more weight
I joined the company softball team when the old me would've been a wallflower
I go to the gym before work, during lunch and after work when my schedule permits
18.5 lost so far since April 4, 2011 with 63.5 to go. Slow pace because I got antsy and wanted to lose faster so I changed the above formula that was working and stalled myself for all of June.
I'm a work in progress.0 -
Hi, I have lost 78pds with 27pds left to lose, but I started out working out 7days a week twice a day. In the morning I would walk to the Lesile Sansone (Walk DVD) in the morning, and at night I walked on the treadmill for 20mins(Jogging) the 40mins. of power walking. and then I do 50 bent knee situps, and then I do my love handle exercise its just moving side to side with a 5pd, 10pd, 12pd weight in both hands, my total workout time was pushing 2hrs. Since I have hit the 78pds lost now I only workout 6days a week and once a day. Now I only workout at nights for about hour and 45mins.
My food I eat 5x a day, I drink a lot water with lemon juice in it.
But I only do the Lesile Sansone DVD if I don't make it to the gym.0 -
I've lost 100 LBS!!!!
I began my weight loss journey a few years ago. I lost 92 pounds by watching what I ate and power walking around the neighborhood. After about a year and a half, I got lazy, ate too much and gained 28 pounds. Somewhere in there my father passed away, I quit drinking and quit smoking (STRESSFUL). I knew that I did not want to gain all that weight back.
In March, I stumbled across the MFP app on my phone. I eat whatever I want (within reason) and just stay within my daily calorie goal. My daily goal is 1490 set by MPF, which I have set to “Lightly Active”. I eat if I’m hungry and just snack if I’m not. I usually have 200-300 left over on days I’ve worked out. If I want to eat them, I do.
I have been doing C25K. There is no way in the world I ever thought I could run for 1 minute (let alone 28). I did w7 d2 yesterday! I have been going to the gym 5 days a week, doing cardio and weight lifting.
Tips? My best trick, eat what you want, just make it a smaller portion. If I want a Dairy Queen Blizzard, I get a mini and eat smaller bites to make it last longer. Half way thru I ask myself if I really want to eat ALL of the calories (350) or just 1/2.
2007 - 335 lbs
2009 - 243 lbs (-92)
March 2011 - 271 (+28) *Started MFP
TODAY - 231 (-40)

I so agree with this post!!! I find I do better with my journey and feel more accountable if I read the success stories everyday. If I don't I start to slip.0

Laying on the couch after I finally came to the conclusion i had to do something...
This is about 56 pounds and a little over two months later
I walk everyday. Do several hours of yard work a few days a week. Work in my garden about ten hours a week. I need to log all this but don't end up doing it. This morning i was down sixty.
And i don't know how to upload pics on here.....lol
Thanks Ducky for the help.0
