Ok, so I know that a HRM is the best way to monitor calories burned however I don't have one and can't afford one at the moment so I rely on MFP and I also have the cardio trainer app on my phone.

Today I did a workout (max interval circuit from Insanity) for 59 minutes. MFP says I burned way less than cardio trainer says. MFP says about 475 while cardio trainer says 711.

Anyone find that one is more close to accurate than the other? Just curious as to the experiences that others have had with this app vs. MFP calories burned.

Thank you.

I use a hrm but I also used the cardio trainer app for the first time today. The app said I burned about 100 less calories than my hrm. In that sense I think its pretty accurate as its better to underestimate than over.

I also recently started using cardio trainer, but have nothing to compare it to. I would appreciate knowing if it indeed is off or not (way off). I do love how it tracks your route, calories burned, distance, and time, etc.
