Like so many others, I could have written the same thing my first day. I thought I was going to pass out in less than 30 seconds, much less 60. I PROMISE it gets easier. If its too much for you, start walking very briskly for a couple of weeks and then revisit. But I bet if you stick with it for 2 weeks, we hear that you are progressing on target!
Within the first 3 months I ran my first 5k in 34 minutes and am doing a 10k in October. I second the motion that if I can do it, so can you:)
