another PCOS question

I just had blood work done to help determine if I have PCOS. My results came back normal. I have an ultrasound scheduled in a few days. How were you diagnosed? Did you have blood work done? Did you have "abnormal" results? Were the blood work results what determined your PCOS diagnosis? Or was it the ultrasound? Or something else entirely? Because my blood work came back normal I'm feeling relieved, of course, but also extremely confused now. Seeing as how I have 99% of the symptoms of PCOS, I'm truly baffled as to how my blood work can come back normal. Any answers would be appreciated. Thank you!

My LH and FSH levels were off via bloodwork and then to further diagnose they did a vaginal u/s and you could see the cysts (little) lining the ovaries on the U/S......

I haven't been diagnosed, but I am feeling pretty certain I have it. I typed in some of my symptoms and PCOS came up, so I looked at those symptoms and yeah... have 99% of them. Feeling kinda worried now. Need to get to the doctor soon.

^ This exactly. Well, my cysts were not little and were only on one ovary. I would ask your doctor about the possibility of retest if s/he sees nothing on the ultrasound. I "have heard" that blood levels and cysts presence can change causing a non-diagnosis.

My blood work came back normal as well. My ultrasound was also normal. However - I have EVERY single symptom of PCOS. My dr told me that if you have these combined symptoms, and they can't be attributed to another illness/disease...it is PCOS. My testosterone is high, as well as my DHEA . They were attributing that too my birth control pills..but it is def a strong sign of PCOS as well. Interestingly, after I was finally diagnosed...(I knew I had PCOS for 2 years before a dr. finally listened to me and helped treating me...)...my insulin is now borderline diabetic...

Bottom line..if you know something isn't right with your body...don't give up and take no for an answer. Get a second, third, or fourth opinion if you have too. Unfortunatley, I don't have much faith in drs...after what I've been through. But there are answers!! I hope it works out <3
