Exercise question

I've been trying to figure out what I should use when I list a stationary hand-bike on my Exercise diary? There isn't one on the database, so I'm not sure what I should use. I'm thinking it would be pretty similar to a person using a regular stationary bike, which isn't possible for me due to my wheelchair (and now some folks can think "Ah...I get the Rollin nickname now!")

I believe you burn 54 calories a mile when you cycle.

Oh, that's a tricky question, I did a quick google search and didn't find much. There were a few more references to pushing yourself in a wheelchair. Perhaps this one that rates activities as "light", "moderate", "strenuous" might be a handy guide.

Honestly, I'd just suggest that you pick one of these and use this as an estimate. Remember that all the numbers from the MFP database are going to be an estimate anyway, calories in and out can't ever be an exact science outside a lab situation.

Of course, the standard answer to such questions is get a heart rate monitor!

Would it be similar to rowing a boat? I think I saw that somewhere.
