Hi all

Am doing C25K and on week 8, using my iPod and the NHS Choices podcasts. Am interested in knowing my pace etc etc and have heard about the Runkeeper app for phones.

At the moment I run with a little wrist-thing that holds my keys and then my iPod is in an arm-band round my bicep. The armband is far too big to hold my phone. Would the app work if the phone is in a pocket or something? Can I use it just to track miles etc without listening?

Sorry if these are stupid questions LOL but be glad if someone can help

Yes it works in your pocket. Just make sure to turn off the playlist because it wants to play music also. Just stick it in your pocket and away you go. It will give you a ton of information when you pull it out and stop it at the end of your run / walk / bike ride.

I use run-keeper all the time on my iPhone. I found that using it in my pocket didn't give as accurate results as having around my arm. I was getting different distances on the same runs.

It does say on the wen site that having a clear reception for the GPS will give more accurate distance and pace results.

I run between 10 - 12 k on most runs and find run keeper a valuable tool for monitoring my performance and its free to use.
