Inches lost vs weight lost

I'm having a really hard time not worrying about the scale. Everyone keeps saying "Look at inches, not weight!"- well, that's easy to say when you're not overweight. People who are overweight generally dream about seeing low numbers on the scale.
To me, low weight= lower inches. I know that's nto always the case, but like I said, when you're 278 lbs, just the thought of seeing 199 on the scale is what is inspiring (to me anyway)...
Does anyone else deal with this problem? Scale obsessed I think I am. I don't know how to kick it!

I am the same way. I live by the scale. Even after losing 20 + pounds, I can't see a huge difference in clothes so that is not inspiring. You just have to mentally prepare yourself for those days that you don't lose or even go up a bit.0
