Last time this was posted, I picked up a lot of new, HEALTHY, foods that I fell in love with. So let's go again...

What is your favorite food this week? Mine is Starkist Albacore Creations...I've only tried the Tomato Pesto flavor but if you like tuna, it's awesome. The whole package only has 140 calories and it's just DELISH!

This isn't any new or great creation, but my new addiction is multigrain Cheerios. For a cup of cereal and a cup of skim milk it's only 200 calories...high on sugar for the milk and cereal, but low cal and filling...yum!

It doesn't have to be new...just your favorite! I haven't tried the multi grain Cheerio's yet but I will.

If you need a sugar fix, the Chex mix bars (turtle & chocolate) are great and only 130 to 140 calories

My favorite food of the week would have to be........
Kellogg's Eggo Nutri-Grain Low Fat Whole Wheat waffles
They are actually really good and with only 140 calories for two plus some sugar free syrup for only 35 your only looking at 175 calories. Yum Yum

My favorite new found food has to be Urban Wafers. You get 4 yummy crispy cookie wedges for only 80 calories. Settles the sweet tooth.
  • My new found favorite is Kashi Cherry Dark Chocolate TLC Chewy granola bars. It only has 120 calories and 2 grams fat yet has 4g fiber and 5 g protein. They are bigger than a lot of the chewy bars (1.2oz) and I find I can eat them slower because I can pull them apart with my fingers.

I'm a fan of a nearly hard-boiled egg on a piece of health nut bread as of late. Very filling and not bad on the calories for a breakfast.

    If I am not mistaken....
Tiziki is a type of sauce or dip....
    Popular in Mediterranean cooking...especially Greek...
Made with yogurt, cucumber, mint, and garlic.... I believe....

Oikos Greek Style 0% Plain Yogurt (90 cals/ 0g fat/ 6g carb/ 15g protein). Delicious and cheaper than my other favorite, Fage Greek Style 0% Yogurt. If you haven't tried the Greek style, it's a bit more like sour cream than yogurt, but super creamy and YUMMY!!

    I add 1 T. Naturally More Peanut Butter (another favorite food ~ 85 cals/ 6g fat/ 4g carb/ 2g fiber/ 5g protein) and mix well.

    Then add 1/4 c. Nature's Path Pumpkin Flax Granola (70 cals/ 3g fat/ 10g carb/ 2g fiber/ 2g protein).

    YUMMY!

FAGE ROCKS! But I've not seen the other brand yet or I might try it out...I'll keep an eye out......:flowerforyou:

I'm new to Fage and WOW.....so low in cals, fat, decent carbs, good protein....all in all I can't think of one bad thing about it....I've found the cherry Fage to be my current fav....I like how they have the fruit in a lil seperate cup deal....that way you can eat the Greek Yogurt plain or dip the spoon. To me it tastes like cherry cheesecake.

I've noticed I can really enjoy the textures and flavors of food much better now that I've given up the crap. Fage Greek Yogurt has got the silkiest smoothest texture.....cool sensation:drinker:

I think its called tzatziki. I absolutely love it! I wish I could find it in grocery stores. Anyone have a good recipe?

My favorite recipe for tzatziki is below. It is YUM-O served with Souvlaki and grilled pita bread!

8 ounces plain yogurt (Greek yogurt (Fage) is best)
1 English cucumber, shredded (with excess water squeezed out)
    2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice (or red wine vinegar)
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
    3 cloves pressed garlic

In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, cucumber, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, dill and garlic. Blend thoroughly and serve.
  • My favorite food this week: Honey Crisp apples! I didn't know apples could taste so good! They have an unbeatable crispness. The Commissary where I work will have them on sale next week for $.89 a pound and I'm gonna stock up!

Now, I'm not sure about the nutty butter bars without the chocolate seeing as how I'm a former nutty butter addict! But for 90 calories it may be worth a try.
