Hi I am Nikki just joined My Fitness Pal! Getting a good idea about how many calories I eat in a day! WOW! Saying is true, people perish cause they are ignorant lol Ok Due to lack of knowledge! I didn't know I was consuming so many calories!

Well now that I know lets see how I do! Any advice for this Newbie?

Yep, I believe that is everyones first reaction when they actually see what they are eating, when logging it.

Just take it easy and know you are going to WORK for what you want to obtain.

Feel free to friend me for motivational support!

I think it starts with awareness, then you start to make changes. After awhile you create new habits!! Good luck and glad you joined! A large part of this program is having friends to support you, so feel free to add me if you would like!

Can definitely be eye opening when you realize how many calories you consume from regular things, or things you thought were better for you.

I love tracking calories because then I'm always on top of what I'm doing, and can make healthier choices based on what's good for me, not what sounds good. Welcome to the site, and I hope it really helps you!

    Hello and Welcome!
I also shocked at the amount of calories, so what I started to do was to enter in my food before i even prepared it, or ate it. This was I was able to plan my meals, and think about future meals. So, if I was going out for dinner, I would start with what I wanted to order, see the calories, then plan the rest of my meals around it so I would stay within.

    Feel free to add me.

Also, make sure you are eating healthy food, vegatables, whole grains, etc.
